In India mostly enjoy this dal makhani and today we will make dal makhani hotel style, Dal Makhani is a dish originating from Punjab region of the Indian Subcontinent.

The primary ingredients are whole black lentils, Red Kidney Beans, Butter and Cream, It's alternative name is Maa Di Daal, so let's follow the following steps that How to make Dal Makhani at Home :-

For Dal Makhani Recipe

Black lentil/Urad Dal 1/2 Cup
Kidney Beans/Rajma 2 Tsp
Salt to Taste
4 tbsp ghee
2 tbsp oil
Shahi Jeera/Black Cumin 1 Tsp
Garlic 4 cloves
Cumin Powder 1/2 Tsp
Coriander Powder 1.5 Tsp
Red Chili Powder 1 Tsp (I like to add 2 tsp)
Garam Masala 1/2 Tsp
Besan(Gram Flour) 1 tbsp
Tomato Puree 1 Cup
Salt To Taste
Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
Black pepper 1/2 tsp
Cream 3 tbsp
Butter 25-30g
Cream or Butter for Garnish

1. Take a bowl and add 1/2 Black Lentil and 2tsp Kidney Beans and add water to it so that that it dipped properly and let it dipped in water for 12hr.

2. Now after soaking in water place this black lentil and kidney beans in the pressure cooker and also add 1/2 cup water and add salt to taste and cover it and cook it for five whistle on high flame and after 5 whistle lower the flame and then cook it for next 20 minutes and then you can check dal has been cooked and soften properly as shown in picture.

3. Now For Tadka, Take a non stick pan and then add 4tbsp Ghee and 2tbsp Oil and heat it and then add 1tsp Black Cumin(Shahi Jeera), 4 Chopped Garlic Cloves and cook it for 2 minutes and then add 1/2tsp Cumin Powder, 1.5tsp Coriander Powder.

4. Now add 1tsp Red Chili Powder, 1/2tsp Garam Masala, 1tbsp Besan and cook this for about 3-4minutes on low flame, Besan generally provide roasted and nutty flavour so i have added this besan.

5. Now add 1 cup of Tomato Puree and mix it properly and then add Salt to Taste and then cook it until it leaves pan side or ghee or cook it until Tomatoes cooked well, This process generally takes about 8-9 minutes and then add 2tbsp coriander leaves, 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder and mix it properly and cook it again for 2 minutes.

6. Now add 3tbsp Cream to it and mix it well and then add cooked dal(black lentil) or kidney beans(Rajma) and mix it again and add water according to requirement and add 30g Butter for Buttery taste and then cook it for 20 minutes on medium flame and you can also cook it for 1-1.5hr.

7. Finally our Homemade Dal Makhani Recipe is Ready to Serve and Garnish it with Butter , cream and Coriander leaves and enjoy this Dal Makhani Recipe.
