How to make Moong Dal Soup |
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
3/4 cup split skinless green gram (dhuli or washed moong dal), soaked and boiled
1 tablespoon oil
2-3 tablespoons butter
4 cloves
12-14 black peppercorns
1-2 fresh red chillies, cut into strips
1/2 inch cinnamon, broken
1 bay leaf
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
1 medium carrot, boiled and finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon fresh cream + for drizzling
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
2-3 tablespoons coconut milk
Fresh coriander sprig for garnishing

METHOD OF PREPARATION
1. Take non stick pan & add 1tbsp oil & heat and add 2-3tbsp butter in a non-stick pan. Now add 4 cloves, 12-14 peppercorns, 1-2 fresh red chillies that we cuted into strips, add 1/2 inch broken cinnamon, 1 bay leaf, 1tbsp chopped garlic and 1 medium chopped onion, mix and saute well till onions turns translucent in colour.
1. Take non stick pan & add 1tbsp oil & heat and add 2-3tbsp butter in a non-stick pan. Now add 4 cloves, 12-14 peppercorns, 1-2 fresh red chillies that we cuted into strips, add 1/2 inch broken cinnamon, 1 bay leaf, 1tbsp chopped garlic and 1 medium chopped onion, mix and saute well till onions turns translucent in colour.
2. Add 1medium chopped tomato and 1 medium boiled & chopped carrots as shown in picture, mix well properly and cook till tomatoes soften in texture & add salt to taste and mix well.
3. Now add 3/4 cup split skinless green gram (which is boiled & soaked )and mix well. Add some water, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and blend well with a hand blender as shown in picture.
4. Now Strain this mixture with the help of sieve into another non-stick pan which is kept on heat and let it boil.
5. Now add 1 tablespoon fresh cream and mix well gently.
6. Now add crushed peppercorns to taste and 2-3tbsp coconut milk & mix well properly and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
7. Now our Homemade Moong Dal Soup Recipe is ready to serve, Transfer this soup into serving bowl, drizzle some cream on top, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
