How to make Poha at Home

For Poha Recipe

100gm or 2 cup of Flattened Rice(Poha){Buy Now}
50gm(1/2 cup) Peanuts
2 medium Chopped Onions
2-3 Slit of Green Chilli
2tbsp Lemon Juice
15-17 Curry Leaves
1/2tsp Cumin Seeds
1/2tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2tsp Sugar (optional)
1/3tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to Taste
3-4tbsp Cooking Oil
Chopped Coriander Leaves
Aloo Bhujiya/ Sev for Garnish {Buy Now}


1. Place the strainer on the bowl and then add 100g Poha to it and then pour a jug of water on it and then tap the strainer to extract extra available from the poha and leave it aside for 10 minutes.

2. Now take a non stick pan and heat it and then add 1/2 cup Peanuts to it and roast the peanuts for 2-3 minutes on low medium flame as well as continuously stirring it and then take it out the roasted peanuts in a plate and then keep it aside.

3. Now add 3-4tbsp oil to the same pan and let it heat and when it gets hot then add 1/2tsp Cumin Seeds, 1/2tsp Mustard Seeds, 2-3 Slit of Green Chilli, 15 small Curry Leaves and then fry these all ingredients for few seconds on medium flame and stirr it well.

4. Now add 1/2tsp Sugar and mix it well and then add 2 medium Chopped Onions and fry the onions on low medium flame till it turns golden brown (approximately for 2-3 minutes).

5. Now 1/3tsp Turmeric Powder and again mix it properly and cook the turmeric powder for few seconds and then add the Roasted Peanuts to it which we have prepared in 2nd step and mix it well again and then add washed poha to it and mix it again and add salt to Taste and mix it.

6. Now Cover the pan with the help of lid and cook it for a minute on low flame and then remove the lid and stirr it well and add 2tbsp Lemon Juice and mix it well and then also add chopped coriander leaves and again mix it properly and then again cover the pan and cook it for a minute on low flame and then remove the lid and stirr it well.

7. Finally our Homemade Poha Recipe is ready to serve and Garnish it with Sev.
