For Homemade Tomato Pickle Recipe

1Kg(10 medium sized) Tomatoes
15 Dry Red Chillies
5 Green Chillies
1.5 - 2tsp Salt or To Taste
4 tsp Packed Tamarind
125 ml(1/2 cup) Sesame Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1.1/4 tsp yellow Asafoetida powder
1.5 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds (dry roasted for a few seconds and crushed)


1. Take 1 kg Cleaned and dry Tomatoes then scoop this portion of the tomato with a scooper and if you don't have melon scooper then you can use a knife and then cut the Tomatoes into 2half.

2. Now add this tomatoes into container and then add water to it and then cover this with lid and cook it on low flame and when it is softer or cooked well and then switch off the flame and then cool this at room temperature then peel the skin of the Tomatoes.

3. Now add this into the blender jar and blend it properly to make it into puree and the strain this puree with the help of strainer by Keeping it on the bowl so that all the seeds of tomatoes removed from this.

4. Now add this again strained puree into the blender and then add 5 Green Chillies, 15 Dry Red Chillies, 4tsp of Tamarind, 1/2tspof Salt and blend it again.
5. Now take a pan and then add 1/2cup(125ml) if Sesame Seeds, 1 tsp Mustard Seeds, 1.1/4 tsp yellow Asafoetida powder, 1.5 tsp Turmeric Powder and then add the prepared tomato puree into this and cook this until the oil starts to separate.

6. In the mean while roast 1tsp Fenugreek Seeds at very low flame and then transfer these seeds into the Pestle Mortar and crush this into a coarse powder and then add this into this pan and add 3/4tsp of yellow Asafoetida powder, 1.5tsp of Salt and then mix it well and turn off the flame and cool down a bit before transferring into a airtight container.

7. Finally our Homemade Tomato Pickle Recipe is ready to serve with your favourite dish.
